Cultural Arts Event Photography

Documenting community life as it happens

I photograph cultural arts events, festivals and community gatherings. Event photography allows me to capture the energy of people making, performing and sharing together, and to record moments that participants and communities can look back on with pride.

My approach is observant and unobtrusive. I aim to show the atmosphere of an event as well as the individuals and activities at its heart, from hands-on making sessions and family activities to the everyday connections that form when people gather around shared creative work. The same attention to storytelling that shapes my workshops guides how I frame, sequence and select images.

I am interested in photographs that do more than record an occasion. They can help organisations share their impact, help artists reach new audiences and help communities see themselves represented. I work with event organisers, arts programmes and community groups who want thoughtful, accessible documentation of their work.
