  • Lumiere Cinema Mercury Gardens Romford, England, RM1 3EE United Kingdom (map)

Tools Unlocked

We are going beyond the basics

Workshop Summary:

In this fourth workshop, you'll dive deep into the essential camera settings that professional photographers use every day. We'll start by locating each function on your specific camera model—from the exposure meter to the histogram—so you know exactly where to find them and what they do. You'll learn how to read your camera's meter to achieve perfect exposure, adjust white balance to capture accurate colors, choose the right release mode for your shooting style, and use focus modes effectively for different situations.

Through hands-on practice with your own camera, you'll explore how each setting impacts your photography and when to use them. We'll demystify the histogram and show you how it can help you avoid over or underexposed images. You'll also discover composition techniques including the rule of thirds, leading lines, framing, and negative space—all while practicing these concepts with your camera.

By the end of this session, you'll confidently navigate your camera's settings and know how to use these professional tools to elevate your photography. This workshop bridges the gap between understanding exposure basics and shooting like a pro.
